Safe place
Jonas and Christoph have been busy working on a covering for the new bunny hutch.

They worked until it was dark and now our girls and the babies are safe.

I am a bit grumpy because they don’t let me over to their place…

… but I understand… they have enough babies

Sad day…
Something terrible happened on Saturday’s dawn…
A wild animal went into the hutch and killed one of Rosie’s 4 day old babies as well as two of Emy’s older ones ![]()
Good thing that it killed not all babies…
And good thing it was weekend so Christoph could built something for my girls.

He made a new big hutch for them.

The whole family worked together to finish the hutch until darkness but they couldn’t manage to make a door on the top so just covered it with plastic and cardboard.
Then the girls were moved into the new building and Brigitte also carried Rosie’s nest carefully into the bed of hay.
I could hear the babies ![]()
I am already curious how many there are… guess 2 or 3…

In the morning all were happy the new hutch was save.
Brigitte could find some paw prints of the enemy in the shed and thinks it is a stoat, so we hope to get rid of it some day.
Christoph bought a stoat trap (works also for rats) but it was empty in the morning.

Pet rabbits
Since our cuties are pet rabbits they go into the house every day.
Save in a box they are carried in small groups into the kitchen which is the only floor without a carpet

And of course they first get something to eat to take away their fear.

Aileen is very lovely and takes special care so they have enough goodies

The boss also gives the little ones a pet once and a while…

When Brigitte is not watching the kids took the rabbits into the living room…

… you can’t imagine how curious the little rabbits are!

If Brigitte discovers the crossing of the rule (rabbits only in the kitchen were there is no carpet since the babies are not house trained yet…) the little ones have to go out into the hutch again… but not without a treat

Fenced floor
So, Christoph went to the shed and had a special work to do…

…after removing the ground cover (leaves and other stuff) he started to fix a chicken fence on the ground.

This should keep the girls save from breaking out

The boss doesn’t trust the girls anymore and makes it save even around the tree (he sure doesn’t leave a centimeter free)

I watch with interest how precisely this man is working…

… and you sure can see he is proud… (no broken tools or smashed finger… hey, wasn’t he just shouting out something when the hammer… oops… I haven’t seen anything…)

Anyway, now the whole floor is covered with chicken fence and we are already curious what the girls do next…
Hutch
The last two Saturdays I watched with interest as Christoph was hammering and screwing around in the shed and garage.

He must have read my blog because he finally worked on a hutch…

… my bunny hutch

David told me all about the comfort there…

… and I am sure the girls will like it (me too when I sneak over :- )

Gosh! The girls really have fun to run around in front of my nose!

Please click here if you like to see a lot more picture how Christoph made the hutch.
Have fun!

Grass under my feet!
You know, we live here in this house for a few weeks and I still had no outdoor hutch or something like that…

… so I am really pissed of and gave Christoph every day my evil eye when he walked by.

But on Sunday I heard him with a saw…

… and hammering around…

…and I wondered what he was up to.

Anyway, when I recognized a drill I got a bit nervous…

… and wondered if he finally got the hint from me to build me something for the garden.

I wasn’t sure until…

…they carried me to the garden where I saw an enclosure!

Yippee! Here I come!

I finally have grass under my feet!

And I also heard the rumors I will get a Bunny girl as soon as Christoph gets the time to build a big hutch… but that can take ages…
Meanwhile I just enjoy a whole new world

Help!
Can you believe THIS…

Christoph really put me into the baking tray for a check…

…if I fit!

But no worries, I am still alive and it was all a bad joke…
Still alive
Since my buddy posted a ‘Wild rabbit recipe’ (click here if interested) some people have been concerned that it could be me.
Don’t worry guys, I still run through the living room and …

… I am so big now, that I don’t fit into this barn anymore

Kroko

Today I am writing about my friend ‘Kroko.’
That’s his nick name since many decades and really suits him . He is a guy with… you know… some kind of ‘snap’ (he always mentions I am his ‘earthquake emergency ration,’ but I think that’s blabber)

He sure likes me. Kroko is the tallest person in the family and I have a good view from his knees.

And I like to slid down his legs
So, that’s for today, I just got an invitation from some fairies! See you soon!
